DM68 when i said perfectly level i meant it dunt lean to either side the front is level an the rear is level just not with each other the rear IS slightly lower than the front ! SAINT V8 only fault on start up is " AIR SUSP INACTIVE " BUT when i drive at higher speeds for any length of time the HDC ABS DTC warning lights all come on ?????? MAYBE is it because the car detects higher speeds so trys to lower to motorway level ?????? My mate is comin with his fault reader this evening we are going on a drive an he will read the codes when they all come on to see whats happening. As my initial post states the only codes logged were the ones regarding the height sensor and articulation validity. I am absolutely stumped as to what the heck it is ???? I will post up any faults logged later to clarify what EVERY ECU is doing is there any other data anyone wud like to see to hopefully help me ?????

Humour me, check the connector to the compressor in the wheel well:)

Deasy LOL ! DATATEK you mean tge connector plug for the compressor ? Ill check mate but why would that have owt to do with the rear height sensor fault an the articulation fault ????

Regardless of your fault codes, I agree with dm on the fact that you should calibrate your heights to factory settings. That is the configuration the vehicle is designed for. When I bought mine the suspension had been lowered and wouldn't work correctly, there were also several logged faults. Now it is calibrated as it should be , it works perfectly .

Hi paul yes ive done that we put the exact measurements in and the 25mm deducted for wheel size measurements no difference ill be checkin the plug datatek is talkin about just waitin for his confirmation of it being the compressor power plug

The rear sensors seem to mirror each other both angles are the same ? If anyone could id really appreciate a photo of both rear sensors an brackets if poss ? We tried to calibrate today the vehicle went up to 830-850 we entered exact measurements (with an without 25mm deduction for 22" wheels) but made no difference soon as i hit 30mph system shut down an wen i hit high speeds all other warning lights came on ????? One thing to mention the car is perfectly level all round and hasnt hit the bump stops ???
Do these pictures of my 2003 rear height sensors help??

DATATEK ive checked the compressor plug in the boot no problems from wat i can see no damp or water in there ? SAINTV8 brilliant pics thats wat mine look like just one more thing could you PLEASE take a photo of the height sensors from the BOTTOM ??? I want to see wat they sit like IN the bracket AGAINST the CHASSIS ! Mine look to be at a funny angle but dint know if they all were like that ??? REALLY appreciate the time it took for you to do those pics ! Im still at a complete loss as to wat to do ??????:confused::confused:

Sestorious, have you cleared the faults yet too undo hardfault and then drove it to see what its doing, or cant you clear the faults because of an existing fault and if so what is it? It shouldn't drop more than 20mm per corner from standard if it is in hardfault by the way and if it does drop to bumpstops its got a leak on airbag/system but you seem pretty sure it hasn't. You could also check dsc sensor because if thats not working the cross valves wont work properly and could throw articulation fault because airs not getting transfered airbag to airbag whilst cornering and such and if corners sharp enough the height sensor would log a fault but you would definately feel that whilst driving.

Im clearing the faults tonight going on a test drive with reader plugged in see wat faults it syores when all the lights come on and look at live data readings. Its NOT on the bumps its just lower than standard at the min. How do i check DSC sensor ? I can also GUARENTEE there is NO leak from any bags front are brand new an rears have no leaks ive checked all four ? Im my opinion its defo an electrical/calibration issue or summat along them lines . Im hopin saintv8 can manage to post up some photos of the rear height sensors from UNDERNEATH LOOKIN UP AT THEM to see how they seat in the brackets cos i dont know if the brackets have been knocked out of line ? Ps can i buy new brackets ???

Will be heading to the car park at lunchtime to crawl under and see what I can photograph for you....

DSC can be accessed through the ABS ECU, so when you get it plugged in, browse to the ABS system and read for any stored fault codes!

Best I could do - I am no David Bailey thats for sure - especially in work clobber in the car park!!

It is difficult to get right underneath as they site about 2.5 inches above the lower wishbone so I couldn't get my hand and the camera in the gap....

Hope they help....

Thats brilliant mate thanks for the efforts of photography yeah mine look the same from wat i can see it just seemed like they were slightly angled away from chassis but yours look the same. Im doin a full scan tonight will post up results later cheers saintv8 !

Looks nice and rusty round the sensor Ant:eek:
True....the P38 was definatly the best Rangie for Rust Protection by a long way!!

One day I will get under and give it a good look over for trouble spots and give it some treatment!

No worries, hope they are clear enough, difficult spot to get to lying on yer back, under a car not supported on stands, engine running, extended height with a door open....not my favourite place to be!!

MAJOR UPDATES : right been on road test faults we have found are -----> ABS 8a air suspension can error
SAS steering angle sensor NO FAULTS
EAS articulation validity fault 64 & canbus fault 32
Height sensor voltages
OSF 3.41
NSF 47.6 ????
OSR 0.51
NSR 1.60
Height sensor height readings
OSF -(minus) 19.8
NSF -(minus) 16.6
OSR -(minus) >>>> ????
NSR -(minus) 42.0 ????
Reservoir pressure is fine at 11.3
Battery votage whilst running 14.3
NOW, we did a live data ABS test, when we were stationary the sensors read 1mph and as we accelerated the readings increased with speed but when they hit 12mph they stopped increasing ???? Also in the ABS live data the
DSC switch said released and it STAYED RELEASED EVEN WHEN DRIVING ????
When we got to high speeds all the lights came on ABS DTC HDC .... BUT when we entered the correct function on the reader they all went off without clearing them ????
Im not too savvy on all these readings an neither is my mate so hopefully someone can help ???? Should the ABS readings still increase or do they stop at 12mph ???? Should the DSC switch stay released ???? Why are the NSF and OSR readings so far apart ???? Why does the OSR height read >>>> and the NSR read -42.0 when the fronts are very similiar ???? Ps the BCU had NO faults either and when we drove at high speeds an all the lights came on NO NEW FAULTS WERE LOGGED ???? I hope ive been descriptive as poss so hopefully you can help !!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Have a read of this - maybe there is something hidden in the write up - yer never know.... http://www.roverreset.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=15&Itemid=73

I think it is ABS or associated system that is the issue...

As you will read, if there is an issue with the ABS or DSC etc the Air Suspension Shutsdown as a safety measure....

The Height Sensor Readings are odd though....and how it reads 47 odd Volts when it runs on a 12Volt system (and I think the line voltage for the sensors is 5V) God only knows....I am assuming those voltages are read through diagnostics and if thats the case, maybe the EAS ECU is confused....as it is telling the diagnostics a wild Voltage reading hence the articulation error - it thinks one wheel is way up in the middle of nowhere and it has no idea how to correct it!!

Had a read of your link very interesting ! What would be your next step mate ? Would you change the 4 ABS sensors ? Should they increase constantly or are they right in stopping at 12mph ? Could a sensor failure be causing this issue with the EAS ? iS THE DSC released correct ? Cant understand the extravagent readings in heights an voltages unless these are to do with the ABS too ? WE ARE ABSOLUTELY STUMPED ?????????????????????
