Hi just got myself a Discovery TD5 had 3 days and have got the problem of no throttle response.was driving fine had a pop from the exhaust the would only tick over no throttle response.Have changed throttle and had error codes checked.The error codes are 86 Drivers demand 3 107 and 95 faults detected driver demand.Any ideas would be appreciated thanks Dez. :confused:

3. if it's an early(10P engine) type you must set the new TP sensor for 2 track in the ECU .... i hope you didnt use second hand part
 
Hi thanks for the reply the year is a 2000 and how do you set the TP sensor for track to and i did use a used throttle for a test to see if it was just the throttle at fault is that a problem thanks Dez.
 
Hi thanks for that any ideas what could be causing the problem with substitute throttle engine only ticking over no throttle response at all ?

I know that snap-on can read/erase D2 codes but i duno if it does programming... if it does go into ECM programming and make sure it's set on 2 track, i saw once that setting went wrong by it's own for some strange reason.

"Driver demand" fault is when the voltages from the TP sensor are out of range or missing

If you are 100% certain about that used TP sensor go into live data with tester(if snapon cant you need nanocom or similar) and read the TP sensor/throttle/driver demand(or how ever the tester names them) values cos it could be a wiring issue between the sensor and the ECM and the signal doesnt get there... jiggle the wires at the sensor's plug and at the ECM's black plug too

if no joy download a free RAVE and start reading(Engine management-Description-Throtle position sensor)....if u are familiar with electrics and u have the RAVE i can tell you where to measure with voltmeter to see if the TP sensor's signal gets to the ECM or not....usually at TP sensor faults the MIL warning is on too.
 
Hi Sierrafery thanks for that what is the MIL warning and when you say ECM is that the same as the ECU thanks Dez.
 
ECU os generic name for "electronic control unit" (that's why there are many different types. e.g: SLABS ECU, ACE ECU, EAT ECU, etc) ECM is generic name for the engine controll module or engine ECU... people say mostly ECU for the ECM but i like to be very accurate;)

MIL is "malfunction indicator lamp", amber, in the left upper side(like a small engine)
 
Hi thanks for the help took the red plug off the ECU today and completely full of oil have cleaned up the plug and have ordered new Injector loom so hopefully this will sort it out.At the moment with old injector loom on is running ok.Hopefully will last until Monday :confused:
 
Hi thanks for all the replies just to let you know all sorted fitted new injector loom and cleaned out ecu plugs ( Red and Grey ) The black one seemed to be not effected. Also took all relays out from fuse box and found some small trace of oil there all cleaned and at the moment running ok.Now that sorted time to move onto leaking sunroof ! Once again thanks for all the help Dez. ;)
