Hi im new to this site and im desperately looking for an upper tailgate for my Range Rover classic 1989.
Some delightful hooligan threw a beer bottle through the window and smashed it, due to my insurer not covering glass damage and me being skint, im hoping somebody has one of these (what seems like almost extinct) parts, lol.

What part of the country are you in ?

A quick look on ebay came up with this one : RANGE ROVER CLASSIC REAR TOP TAILGATE on eBay (end time 28-Jan-11 16:07:24 GMT)

I see he also has a tatty one (as he describes) for £15 to.

Hi, Thank you for the welcome, unfortunately, i live a fair way from the ebay seller, and just cant afford it with postage aswell, im in Northumberland near Morpeth. Thank you anyway though and if you hear of any thing closer please let me know. Thanks again.

Google turned up these guys in your area :Welcome to 4MuddyFeet

They may not do second hand parts,but they may know of someone breaking your model for spares !!

hi Andy, tried 4muddy feet, they are local, they said they didnt know of anyone unfortunately. But thank you anyway.

Recently been told i can replace with perspex and still get through m.o.t no probs, so might do that as it seems the cheapest option at the moment.

I think the frame can be dismantled and a piece of perspex fitted.
If the frame can not be dismantled then cut it and screw it back together.
Perspex from a diy store with silicon sealer should be cheap enough, or more expensive a piece of glass cut to size.
