So, my friend has come to possess an ECU that the previous owner said was given a "mid-range map" in the U.K. but didn't know by whom or what company. My buddy has test driven it and says it clearly has been chipped.

The only thing about it that could lead to some answers is a warranty sticker that I have never seen on these ECUs.

Any ideas who did the tune chaps?

That's a generic sticker used by many companies it can't lead to the tuner IMO... though i dunno why it's important who did it as long as it works well

Thanks for clearing things up. We aren't too familiar with maps and the TD5 ECUs.

My friend was concerned that that the tune was too agressive for his stock internals since we had no idea what it was like, so he would have liked to know more about it. Seemed pretty mild to me though.

The real thing is to fit an EGT gauge pre-turbo(if the EGR is disabled in the manifold blanking plate is good enough) and if the temp doesnt exceed 650 under heavy load and stays around 300 with normal driving there's nothing to be stressd about but if t goes above 700 and there is lot of black smoke on acceleration better not use it...simple as that
