Hi all,

just picked up a genuine new roverron MAFAM MF75p off of fleabay for a scarily good price (£27 inc postage). Fitted the MAFAM on my 2006 TD4 with no problems but I still suspect the MAF is out of spec due to the heart stopping lack of grunt when pulling on to a roundabout in 1st .... ! It came complete with a Pierburgh MAF but I don't have the correct bit to get the 5 pointed screws out of the housing to change the Bosch piece of s**t for the Pierburgh one. Anyone of you experts out there got any ideas where I might source one of these items ?

cheers all in anticipation, etc (grovel, grovel..)

Steve :)

Ya mean a Torx head similar to this/these :Male

Halfords sell em both male and female, i'll let ya work out the difference :p

Methos.

Thanks for the rapid reply. I fear the bolts I'm on about are not quite the same thing. The bolts on the MAF sensor are five pointed (not 6 as in normal Torx) and also have a central pin. None of my torx or security fiitings tools will work. Still stumped I'm afraid....!

you can get what is known as a security bit set from A,L,S.In this set you will find the bit you r looking for The set will cost you about £8 and does the job just fine.

"Torx Plus" are the silly 5 point security ones, ASDA of all people used to sell a set of these....dunno if they would still have em now... Looks like This ?

Cheers Methos, they're the ones! :D
I'll do a bit of googlin' for Torx plus and see what I come up with,
