hi every one i got a td5 03 plate. has any one ever removed the bottom ball joint on one. as its pressed in and if i was to have it pressed out i got to take the blummin axle off as the casting its pressed into is part of the axle casting. so for ive heated it and lamped it and still dont want to come out it has moved about 2mm. i was wandering if there is a mobile press tool that fits around it. or if i could get my hands on a set of oxygen acetylene set that would do it, any other ideas.plz

pain in the arse.
we used a 20 ton bottle jack and made a holder for it, and a set of dies for pressing out and in.
lr recomend its only pressed 3 times, (dealers mark axle with yellow paint when they do it), then its a scrap axle.

hi guys finally did it i used heat and a large socket and hammered it out and then i used along piece of 8" inch tube slided it over ball joint and jacked it up so the weight of the vehicle was pushing up on the tube then lamped the top of casting it soon popped in. all i had to do after was dress the castings edge back up. thanks everyone who replied.

I found a tool made for the Dana 44 Jeep axle. It is around 100€ and works very well for Disco and Range axles. Did 3 discos this month and it is a pleasure to work with this tool.
