Help Please....?

I am seriously thinking of buying a Landrover Freelander 05 Reg 1.8 XEi Petrol (30,000) from a Garage.

I have heard that some Landrover's had problems with the head gaskets what is the likelyhood that the problem no longer existed by the production date of this vehicle or how can I find out if the necessay modifications have been done?

The k series injun has only just been modified with a metal head gasket in the "new" MGTF, so a high risk option probbaly

They also wear the liners out quite quickly and like eating cams and lifters.
