might sound silly
but on way home from work i topped up the diesel on my 03 td4 and the car started jugging within 500 yards...first thought was dirty fuel///when i did get home about 1 mile further i left the car running while i had my dinner when i went back out i noticed a distinct noise from fuel pump at rear wheel would dirty fuel cause this or is the pump gone...the car runs with very low power("lumpy") but ticks over like its "missing" and you cant rev her atoll
thanks in advance

does sound a bit petrol related....

whip the fuel filter off and have a look / sniff and how much did you put in?

Wife did it in her Freelander once, sounds the same.
On the plus side I was about 50 litres up on free petrol for my boat:)

She managed to drive about 6 miles before it stopped, emptied it and then filled with fresh diesel and worked a treat

When my wife did it, I towed it home
Got underneath it and removed the large pipe going to the tank and drained off as much as I could.
Sourced Jerry cans and filled to the brim with diesel, turned it over until the diesel took over and it ran fine after that.
She did put in about 50 litres mind you.
I would advise you to fill it to the brim with diesel if you're not going to drain it first, the more diluted the better

thanks bigeeee...need it for work in morning and only car we have and have to work on road as no drive ect...so may just fill a couple of cans a couple of times and hopefuly petrol will dilute...
thanks again bigeee

I did this with mine. I filled it right to the brim with diesel and ran it through. Ove I had an almost empty light I changed the Filter put some Wyns Extrem Diesel engine clean in and filled it half way. That did the trick. :)
