Hi, I would like to know if I can save about £1500 in two years,
would I be able to get myself a descent diesel auto range rover or discovery?
I have a disability and I didn't think that I'd be having to scrape together a few quid for a vehicle of my dreams! Any advice would be greatfull, also how many mpg and insurance please.

that depends on how much you put away each month

sorry to hear of your disability. mpg depends on how much you push the accelerator down, insurance depends on age,n.c.b's,area you live in and in your case what your disability is

Thanks for your help. I'm gonna do my best and put as much as I can away each month. I really would like a Range Rover, but sayin that, I've always admired the discovery's. I'm not going to use it all of the time, so cutting down on the milahe should also help wif the insurance. Off to bed now, I appreciate ur help.

the landy specalist insurers also help alot.My 3.9 v8 was gonna be 2.5k to insure with more than IF I took all my NCB off me other car. Adrian flux did it for less than 380 quid without touching me NCB off me daily runner. That can be a deal breaker

Hi, I have some other questions if it's ok? Is the diesel auto fairly relliable and parts not too bad in price and to get hold of? Where on the discovery is there to be more rust when buying second hand for approx £1500.

200tdi and 300 tdi very good engines, not a lot of electronics to go wrong. parts are cheap and plentiful. rust spots are front inner wings, body sills inner and outer, rear wheel arches, boot floor and rear body cross member.
have a good look round the discovery section plenty of info and write ups in there

Thanks again for your help. If the discovery has rust on it where you said, then would it be expensive to fix or should I avoid it? I have read that servicing is expensive, about £500. Can it be cheaper because I need to be able to afford the running costs as well as the insurance. I tried a quote from adrian flux but at the mo it works out £1400. the best quote I've had is around £600. Being on benifits is hard, but I really want to get a discovery somehow. I am trying to get as much info as I can while I'm saving up. Sorry to be a pain in the neck wif all these questions.

Speaking very generally, if you're not a welder then avoid very rusty Discos. It will cost you too much. Servicing can largely be done at home... don't know where you got £500 from, maybe that's what a main stealer would charge.
