Used car Saturday, all was fine. Went to start car last night to move it - nothing, battery kaput.

Had the thing on charge all night, plenty of kick in it this morning, but when I put the key in I get messages - windows not set, rhf window not set, sunroof not set, engine disabled - also, the r/h button on the remote doesn't seem to be working, the thing won't 'click' if that makes sense.

It is back on charge now.

I'm in the middle of nowhere, no other transport and can't get my kids to school, so any sensible advice greatly appreciated.

Use EKA code from owners manual on drivers door lock see if that gets you going.

I'm afraid I don't have manuals, and although I've often seen the EKA term on here, I've no idea what that is. Obviously i can't get to a dealer, is there anything else I can do.

Not a lot i am afraid, minimum thing you need is EKA code. A coded sequence of turns made to drivers door lock with key. Take the VIN number to dealers and get it from them. You will also need a manual or instructions how to do it. Looks like a day off for kids. Bet they are happy at least.:):)

Phone your local Land Rover dealership, give them your reg and chassis number and explain the position your in - they will give you the code
it worked for me a couple of years ago

long shot but would if be possible to ring the dealer, give them the vin and they give the code? In ann honesty would hope not, but always worth a go?

Think for legal reasons they need to see your log book, but you could give it a try as i said before you also need instructions in how to do it.

I'll give my local dealer a try, I'll get one of the kids to cry in the background to see if that helps.

Should I get the code, where do i find instructions on what to do next.

Cheers All

Always, always, always have a crying child to hand or tape record one at some point in order to melt the heart of the parts manager.

I've got me codes (EKA and Radio) so I'm off to twist and turn for a bit.

lol, good work.

Have you got the sequence you need to input the EKA code, I had to input mine a few weeks ago as the Rangie isnt in use at the moment and the battery died.

Once inputted all should be well again,

FYI the battery is flat again on mine!!!!

Yep, got all me lefts and rights sorted in me head, haven't actually done it yet as i want the battery charged so if it does work I can start it and get it our for a run asap.

Its fixed !!!!!!!!!!!!

Many thanks to everyone for your help.

MP3 file of crying children available to anyone contemplating phoning their stealer for the EKA code
