Help Please :Dash Lights Not making Sense

I have a 200tdi 1993 defender,,

when i put the lights on full, (dipped) the Coreplug warming light comes on,

when i start the car i never see this in-fact i get the choke light

is there a problem or just something to live with ?

As siliconwombat says, most likely earths - remove the instrument panel (only 4 screws) and check. Don't trly on the bulkead earths just 'looking' OK - remove, clean and spray liberally with silicon spray or WD40.

Could also be frayed wires in the multipin connector or a melted connector - damage should be quite obvious with the instrument panel pulled forward

Core plug warming light? I think someone is pulling your ****er.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

The light next to the side light light is cos you have yer rear foglight on.:doh::p
 
Think we need the OP to reply - he said "when i put the lights on full, (dipped) the Coreplug warming light comes on"

I took that to mean that the engine was running, he turned the dip beam on and then the glow plug lamp lit.

As to the rear fog lamp light being on - should be a simple diagnosis:D
 
oh dear i feel rather stupid, have driven petrol cars for too long , sorry for wasting your time, lol
