Hi guys, I've been reading posts on here for a few months now as I own a P38, and found it very helpful. But it now has a brand new problem!!
It was left for a week and the battery went completely flat (wouldnt even power the immobiliser light).
Ive put a brand new battery on, new fuel filter, still wont go. Its cranking over but wont fire, so I suspect that it may be that the EMS and the BeCM are no longer synced.
Does anyone in NE Lincolnshire have a BeCM sync mate that I could use PLEASE? Thanks, Matt

Hi , i've a P38 diesel and my battery was running down due to the BECM (beckham) or Dave as I now call it - we seem to have spent many hours together !
The only issue I had was the key Fob needed re synching with the immobiliser, I did a Key in door turn anti clock wise for 4 seconds and then open. Then Key in ignition, igniotion on and it said engine immobilised; bit of pressing of the fob buttons and it soon re-educated itsself. on't know if this helps ?

I also found that it was the BECM that was draining the battery, I bought an in line ammeter, it replaces the blade fuse and tells you how much current is going through each circuit. Going through the fuses on the BECM i soon found the culprit that was not sleeping. ( it was the very top left fuse) , i did a get round of installing a switch on this circuit and kept the fuse in line for safety. When i leave the car over night i just flick the switch and all is well !!, the only thing I lose is the trip mete and average fuel figures.

hi,this is the aptly named introduce yourself section bud, please do that, then ask these questions in the range rover section.otherwise the natives tend to get restless.welcome to the forum by the way.;)

Ok thanks I'll remember that for next time! !
Thanks for the replies just an update I've sorted it turned out to be glow plugs.
