Hope someone can help or offer some advice.

I've got a automatic 200tdi discovery, The gearbox temp warning light came on and just after lost reverse.

So far I have drained the transmisson fluid and replaced the oil screen and replaced the fluid. The old fluid was a bit brown. Still no reverse gear though all forward gears are fine.

According to the fault diagnosis on the rave cd no reverse = "reverse gear interlock valve seized"

Can any one tell me where this valve is??? How do I un seize it??

If ya have the rave CD it will tell where that valve is, i suspect inside the gearbox itself. Try looking at the overhaul bit of rave for the gearbox :D

First try a very careful adjust of the gearbox selector doo-dah.
It needs to be spot-on or it goes skew whiff.

Sometimes you can find this out ...

lever in PEE.

Start engine on tickover.

With BOTH hands (one to steady the other) very very slowly creep the selector lever out of PEE towards ARRRR. If nothing happens (like it doesn't start to go backwards) keep creeping it back towards ENNN.

If you get all the way to ENN and nothing happened, don't waste time adjusting the linkage. If it did hit reverse at any stage, shout CARAMBA! and try adjusting the linkage till reverse works. Make sure this doesn't stop other settings from working.
