No reverse gear

A friend of mine has a freelander 1td4 he had a bit of a accident the other night (not injured) he says car spun out going round left hand bend he hit pavement ripped lower ball joint out causing the passenger side driveshaft to come out (ripped inner cv boot apart) All the parts are now replaced but no reverse gear it will engage but won't move , all forward gears are fine any ideas advice would be great

I get all your posts as a personal message. Not sure why? Have replied but check linkages haven't come off. Assume it is a manual ??
