Hi all right. Ive been tasked with sorting an experdition to rase money for the army benvolent fund as im a serving soldier.

its for around 20 other soldiers and so far just been told to sort out a exped so my question is this

  • were can i go?
  • Could i get sponsership (for winches tents etc) if so who is best and how do i go about doing it.
  • what Kit and equipment am i looking at needing.
Hopfully i will be getting some wolf land rovers Or some L200 pick ups. ideal if we could get the land rovers.

You can go anywhere you like! How long have you got? You may be able to get sponsorship for parts but im sure you allready have all the kit you need at your disposal.

fuel
water
cooking equipement
tents
recovery equipment

that should be all you need to carry.

4 weeks - north Africa?
8 weeks - the Stans? Arctic highway?
Longer - Mongolia, west africa, Russia

The world is your Lobster. If you are going in Mil attire though, I suggest researching the countries as some countries in West Africa for example will get twitchy with British mil vehicles passing through full of squaddies!

im looking at around 3 weeks i think. im in a traing unit so we dont realy have things like recovery equipmet hear but i will try and request it but i will be given a budget to work to.

im going to start writing to companys seeing what backing i can get i no that the Army Raly team gets backing from Tesco so im going to start there.

im looking at doing a mini camel trophy type thing with little compertitions. ive seen on teh net that there is places in poland

More of a european excursion planned then?

If you want wild and remote 3 weeks should be able to get you to the Croatian Alps or parts of Transylvania that are accessable to 4x4 and will provide a challenge.

Good luck.

Make it 4 and a bit weeks then you can do Mongolia and back (going back the quick route back through Russia of course) :). Quite likely to be my next trip.
