Help needed

Hi People ....

Well i took my Disco to the garage and it's not the Turbo or Engine the noise seems to be coming from the gearbox or bell houseing ( Said the garage ) .. No auto box places around here will not touch it one guy yesterday said £1800 +VAT for a Recon ... Ashcofts do them at £675.00 and the guy was telling how ashcrofts are crap lol.... ..

Now i would like to know what the problem is the noise come in at about 2500 rpm and no power or noise on tick-over with no power

Since i have had the Disco i have put about £3,000 into it as i got for £350.00 i need to get

New steering box
2x New swivels
2 x Steering bars

And to sort the problem that's with the box or what ever it is

Now i DON'T want to lose it but it will cost about £3,000 to fix for that i could get a 300di

I really don't what to do fix it or sell it in parts ... I will be get a pajero as at the moment i do not have £3,000 to fix it or get a new Disco as the prices are high for Disco's i can get a pajero for £1,500

The box can not be that bad or the problem as it drove home yesterday keeping the revs down .. What do you think is the best way forward ... Thanks

Ah I see...remove the meth lab and you may find the knocking noise disappears as the customers go elsewhere.

When my autobox was fooked I ended up buying a second hand unit from eBay iirc cost was £100 inclusive of arranging for delivery from the south to Cheshire. It's not a huge job you just need loan of a hefty hoist..
Got a thread somewhere with plenty of pics it's not that hard just a bit daunting, if I can do it on me tod anyone can.

personally mate, if you have the room and time to do it I would be breaking it. there's a good chance you'll make your £3000 back.

Plenty people with with money to wipe there arses with are looking for chasis to build kit cars from.
