I have a landrover discovery 300tdi that I think has a blown head gasket, I was about to give up on her as I can't afford the prices of the garages to fix her but after lurking here for a while I thought I would be bold and ask if anyone knows of someone that could help me fix her in the Taunton area. I am willing to learn and just don't want to give up on her after 4 years loyal service to me.
I am not bad with tools for a girl and can have a good go at most jobs but after reading how it is done I am petrified to fix this myself and don't have a torque wrench or the step ladders I need to see into the engine bay.

I hope someone can help JP as she is my only mode of transport and if I don't get to work I don't get paid.

Does it still drive or cooked right up?

she is spluttering when I started her up this afternoon white smoke and oil from the exhaust and spraying water everywhere in the engine bay. I can't see contamination in the water or oil but I checked in torch light. She isn't holding water and the heaters went cold about a week ago. She drove ok this morning to the feed stores but felt like she was loosing power about a mile from home but I put it down to the weight I was carrying 5 bales of haylage and quite a few bags of animal feed. I don't want to drive her incase I do more damage and have to give in and scrap her.

Recovered to mine and cover parts and fuel to and from collecting parts etc-I'll show you how to fix it

followed the instructions on internet on how to bleed air out of the system when filling up coolant. I can put the coolant in and watch it run out or come out of the expansion tank cap when the engine is started.
