help needed with non starting.

Hi iv got an L reg discovery tdi200.
its been stud for a week and just gone to it and the central locking has stopped working and it wont turn ove but everything else works fine. Has anyone has this problem before?

new battery or jump leads plip the fob and see if it will go

Its not the battery cos if you short the trigger terminal on the starter it fires up.

I have had that on a 200tdi D1 that had stood in a field for a couple of weeks , same thing - triggered starter by wire from battery . I dried it out and it was fine so I assumed a fault in the ignition switch/key barrel or associated wiring .

as said above could be an issue with the switch on the back of the ignition barrel, take it off and clean it up.
