Hello all!

Looking to pick your knowledgeable brains: have a Defender td5 from 2006 that's been out of action for a while waiting for us to change the gearbox. Now that's all been sorted we're faced with a bit of a conundrum.. the beast won't start. Have recently purchased a nanocom, but can't get the ECU to communicate with it ( worked a treat on the other vehicle), the glow plug light won't come on and the fuel pump doesn't react but the starter motor turns over. Have checked all fuses and connections, and everything seems normal. Any ideas on how to move forward?

Many thanks!

R

lt's possible the ECU has failed, becoming common now.

Symptoms are very often no glow plug light, no fuel pump, no EML

Cranks normally but no start.

Start with everything you have removed to replace the gbox, check and then check again, do not skip any steps.

Not the best news that! The motor uses a 15P ECU... I have a 10P available: is it worth trying or totally pointless?
