Help locked out

A bit more info please.
It's a V8, but what age?
Will the key mechanically open the door lock?
Is the led on the key lighting when you press a button?
Is the alarm LED flashing on the dash?
Does anything happen when you press key buttons?
 
Key operates lock ,light flashes on key fob ,light flashing on dash , if i open door alarm sounds, i have key code on landrover card which matches chassis nomber but if i try lock code 3 times it says keycode lock out for 30 mins

Are you starting the EKA sequence with the door locked?
As you enter each part of the sequence is there any response from the car? Lights flashing on the binnacle?
Have you tried operating the key buttons with the key almost touching the rear off side window?

Whilst trying anything be careful not to compound the problem by putting the car into superlock.
