iv just put my engine back together (19j) has had a full head rebuild, bottom end, rings, timing belt etc. went to bleed the fuel system and realised that i could still hear air escaping after id shut the bleed screw! noticed just below the bleed screw on the side of the pump body there is a nut with a grub screw in center with two large nuts against body as locking nuts? well the small nut with the grub screw has sheared off somehow? leaving the two lock nuts and a sheard grub srew stump!!!! what is this? as manual doesnt mention it and i cant find anything that even lists the thing! its always in pictures of pump but never listed.
have been looking for hours for an exploded diagram or something as i dont want to touch it unless i know what it does. anybody help? please please please cheers. j

just noticed a post made in the thread (injector pump oil leek) a guy called l90edb posted a pick of the pump with numbers well its number 4. cheers.j

There bleed screws , ask about on here as I remember someone saying they had a dead pump sat in the garage - cross there palm with beer money and wait for snail mail :) .

if its a bleed then not to much of a bother dont mind sound of that :) but why has it got the lock nuts and grub screw end if its just a bleed? just concerned about what may fall off the end of it inside the pump, is it not some sort of fuel adjuster?????? just wish i knew why its come off :(

cheers for that, best pick iv seen yet! doesnt list what the part is however. bugger! this is the problem i keep having as you can find pics and info on the pump but none list the part im talkin about.
gonna see if i can find another pump today and have a look what the part does.
thanks guys :)

I have a fuel pump in the shed I kept as a spare from memory it was running fine but weeping out the top of the pump somwhere. I changed it for a recon one a couple of years ago. Your miles away tho

I took that picture of my old engine, and it wont be about for long because I haven't paid the renewal for my hosting

finally have a healthy running 110 again :) managed to repair the cold start valve using a bolt from an old bed. couple hours with the dremel and sorted :) saved me self £150 as thats what i was quoted for new part.
takes a little fiddlin to get it set but you can do it by ear tbh only pain is getting the o rings to stay in place as you put it back in but smear of vasaline sorted that, quick bleed of the system and sorted. il see if i can attach pics.
