Hi All, Just started restoration on a 1975 Rangey with a Perkins diesel conversion. New to oil burners and having difficulty getting the bloody thing to start, could be air or water in the fuel lines? Is there anyone in my area who could come and show me what to do. My budget is pennies and I can't afford to pay for a garage to look at it but would be very grateful for someone to come and give advice, tea and cakes provided or something stronger. Not looking for anyone to do the work, just give me pointers, so you won't need to get your hands dirty.
Cheers, JimmymacD

make sure you have fuel pump pumping and purge air from system.
You may need to crack off injector pipes and crank- while cranking tighten each injector pipe when they start to leak.

Welcome JimmymacD, I'm sure someone will be happy to help, unfortunately I can't- I live too far away and I'm not too keen on tea or cakes. Best of luck old chap

:D

Fanatic's right though, and make sure the stop solenoid is getting power and working and that the glow plugs all work.
