Hi all,
Need your help ugently!! Suppose to be drivng to Devon this arvo for surprise weekend away with the wife, well surprise for her as I booked it! Lol!
Ive got a 1996 300tdi Disco, Did an engine change back in May, all seemed well other than the Clutch would drop to with in a couple of inches of the floor, but worked ok, so didnt really worry about. Ive covered about 300miles since then and noticed it slowley getting worrse, so thought it must be air in the system? (Ive got classic minis and thats usually the problem with them) So Got the Wife in the car ready to press the clutch up and down to give it a good bleed through, only as soon as I open the bleed screw on the slave cylinder the pedal falls to the floor. As it does this I do get a small amount of fluid come out of the bleed. but you then have to physicall pull the clutch pedal back up once you shut the bleed. Got "Er in dorrs" to pull the pedal up and down and few times to see if it made any difference as I open and closed the bleed screw accordingly. Now, if anything its a fraction worse, drove it home from the workshop last night and it was fine in all gears. Got in it to drive to work thismorning and couldnt get reverse, tried the forward gears and it went into gear with a few clicks, so guess the clutch is draggin. I pumped the pedal a few times and selected a few different gears for a few minutes and was able to get reverse with out any problems. Drove 3miles to work and all seems ok, reversed in carpark space with no real problems. But the pedal only has about an inch of movement, if that??
Anyone got any bright Ideas of how to sort this out this arvo??
Regards Stanley
