Help my 02 freelander makes a tinney sound from rear but only when pulling of sounds like something rubbing prop my dads looked underneath nothing obvious no marks on prop or rear drive shafts but still making noise and is loud but only when accelerating

Any help please I need my Landy to get to my horse
:confused::mad:

Hi everybody the noise sounds like exhaust rubbing prop but there's no marks and exhaust is clear of prop it seams to come from back wheel area but no sign of rubbing anywhere I'm getting worried now

Sorry I missed your last post.

If it sounds as though it is coming from the wheel area, have you checked to see if there is any debris caught around the brake caliper?.

You might find it easier to get more information in the Freelander section.

I'll ask him to look he said he would have to take drum of thanks everyone for help any more ideas would help very much

Have you checked the rear subframe, the mounting bolts corrode in the chassis rails, lift the back end up but not by the wheels etc so the subframe is hanging, then get a pry bar and check the mounting bolts for movement.

would be having the brake drums off pronto if there's nothing obvious with the props.

not unknow for brake linings to become detached from their back plates, could be a bit of that pinging round

She'll have a job doing that seeing as it has drums on the rear
