Please I need some advice from some real fixers....not the type that want to tow you 100 miles to a garage and tell you " Yes its definatley not running right"!!!
hi I have a 2006 freelander 1 td4. it is driving me nuts. I have a fuel issue. AA said initially it was fuel rail sensor so that got change for one off fleebay. broke down again so I bough a bosch one from Dingbro. fitted it still issues. fitted new filter new fuel pump and still no great. AA were out other day and said this. the fuel rail is registering seeing 1100bar it should only see 470 ish...its your fuel rail sensor...Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!
so I changed sensor again but its running bad..sometimes its defos gtting to much fuel as you can hear bad stuff happening like a diesel rattle. engine management light comes on and off as it pleases

The problems with the pressure sensor on the rail isn't normally the sensor - its the loom to the sensor, it corrodes.

There is a replacement, upgraded, part.

That has more chance of fixing the problem than replacing the sensor.

Another high possibility is the rubber O ring seals on the pressure regulator on the high pressure pump - they perish making it impossible to build pressure.

These are well documented on LZ, a search should find more info, but if not, ask.
