Looked at busters guide, got old fuel pump off my 200 tdi easy enough. New pump has a longer arm and a plastic spacer which I assume I need to use to keep the arm inside the engine the same length as the old one.

Stuck my pinky into the hole and can feel a cam which I assume drives the pump.....question is does the arm sit onto of the cam or does the arm need to go under the cam?? If under then is there a trick for getting it under the cam?

Thanks

I do not know if the pump is driven by lifting the arm or not. If it is driven by lifting the arm then the arm sits onto of the cam, if it is driven by dipping the arm then it sits beneath the cam. Can you help?

Thanks james, i did that and connected up the fuel in pipe and sparked up the engine. No fuel from the out side of pump. Any tricks to get this working? Thanks

are pipes right way round ,is it a good pump should make a noise when cam lever is pushed when off the vehicle ,is it trying to suck air not fuel

I just assumed that the fuel in was the same side as the old pump but will check to make sure that when I lift the arm it sucks from the right place!
