Driving down to Kent broke down on M11 , lost power low power mode , plugged in my reader shows P0087 low fuel rail pressure and P2263 turbo performance, recovery to a petrol station , gauge shows 1/4 tank , filled up 52litres to reach full , still doesn’t start even after I’ve cleared the codes so I’m sat waiting on a mechanic from green flag , I’ll be going to Welling visiting beyond ideas any suggestions of Indie LR places to get it fixed on Monday ? I’ve seen Dakar on the web anyone know of them ?

Hi all an update and thanks for the response .. Adam (Mechanic) from Manchetts finally arrived about 11pm (he was worth the wait) i talked him through things, he listened to me trying to start it up he gave me a thumbs up (fuel pump runs) and then went to get his Autel reader, cutting a long story short , he sprayed some brake cleaner down the air intake pipe and we got it almost going, then he put on the Autel and found the codes looked them over along with the detailed info behind and decided to clear them so we tried again ..this time she fired up, so then he put the air intake back and we tried again succes, we left her running while he got back to the autel looking over the data it has lots more detail in depth than my Icarsoft but at 10x the price i'd expect so ...he kept the engine running while he looked more things over using the autel alltold about 45mins with the autel attached.

The outcome is that he thinks it could be the fuel rail pressure sensor on its way out (it reads 2v on idle and 0v with only ignition on but should read 0.5v, he rang another mechanic to check his findings) or the fuel tank signaller not sending enough fuel through (voltage wise he says that looks ok and shows no real issues on the Autel) as the turbo gets hot and requires more fuel I'd been going for about 4hrs continuously at motorway speeds at the point it went and suggests when next in the garage to get them to pressure test the whole fuel pipe/feed system as it might be full of "****" with it now being 120,000 miles on the clock and with not great history between 50k and 97k and he says if I'm really unlucky both the sensors are having issues ..but he'd swap out the FRPS after the pressure test first and take it from there.

Not bigging myself up, simply making the point of treating people as people, engaging with them as humans not as tools to be used, by talking calmly with Adam and treating him like a person, rather than just the mechanic, who I'd waited too long for and being aggressive with him, (it was after all now 11pm and I'd broken down close to 5pm) he gave me his best service and extra care, all in the pouring rain. I'm sure if he'd been approached in a demanding annoyed manner he'd have happily and quickly said he couldn't fix it and called for a recovery vehicle to get me to my destination and palmed it off to a garage to deal with on monday morning as even while he was dealing with me he took 2 calls to go to other jobs and simply said he was still fixing mine, when in reality he was checking and exploring potential issues for me while the engine was now happily running.

All in all depite the hours waiting for recovery off M11 and then for Adam, its proved the value of my GreenFlag membership so having lost the engine at 4.50pm I was on my way again at 12.20am ...happy days almost.
