so I took the wings and inner wings off to re-spray them. Any re-fitting advice?? Fitted the inner wing then I couldn't even get the the wing in the right position so any of the holes would line up, not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks

I fitted mine with the bolts all loose & some thin rags to protect the paint. Got it in position & tightened the bolts some were fiddly, mines were on & off a few times

as I had to cut holes for my roll cage. o_O

I remember when I came to put my wings back on I was expecting it to be a 20 mins per side job and it turned out to be several hours per side! :( They took a lot of gentle manipulation to get the fastening holes to line up as well as the panel join lines to be flush. They're surprisingly flexible when they are off the vehicle. The fixing holes from the bulkhead end to the headlight end can move, in relation to each other, a lot! Therefore, their relevant fixing points can be way out when they go back on. New fixings might help getting things to connect first time. Then, as kevstar says above, get the fixings in loosely. It may take some surprisingly heavy pushing and shoving to get them all lined up. All this with great care not to damage paintwork. Then, slowly tighten individual fixings while pushing and pulling to get it aligned with the bulkhead lines and square/horizontal across the front.
Bottom line is that it appears to be a quick bolt back on job. In reality, accurately replacing body panels is a fiddly, time consuming job that requires a lot of patience. IMHO anyway!

I usually leave the inner and outer attached, wrestle them over the shock turrets and put in a couple of the bulkhead bolts first. Two long narrow (3/8 x 12") extension bars and a decent head torch will make getting the top ones in much easier. Don't forget the copperslip on the bolts for the next time. If any of the captive nuts look suspect, now's the time to replace them.

Thanks for the tips, managed to get one on in a few hours today, then had to take it off again as I forgot to fit something. DOH!!!!

It's coming back together now though!

came out not to shabby for a home job :D

What is that colour, its very much like the blue im after. Seen a few on ebay, Firecracker blue, spirit blue pearl and so on. All look good but hard to judge from an open paint tin. Need to get it ordered.

Mine has come out quite good too, really please with it, hell of a lot of work though! did you have any problems with the bonnet closing after you put your wings on?? been fiddling around for ages but can't get it to close! keeps hitting the chequer plate on the wing tops!
