Hi all,
I have a 300tdi which has no rails on the roof. I have 'paid £10.00 for a pair of flebay, before looking in to it. I am no stranger to getting my hands dirty, BUT, I thought it maybe just the case of marking out and drilling the roof carefully (headlining down first), the two locating lugs on the front of the rails are round and the locating lugs on the back elongated. The problem I can see is the bolts that have been supplied have a washer attached, the washer is the same diameter as the lugs, so obviuosly they would only tighten up onto the rails and not the roof.
Do you think I have been given the wrong bolts or am I missing some kind of fixing clamp? Before all you wise guys start on about why would I. Simple... personally I think the disco looks better, my thoughts and also I have a very expensive thule roof box, bars and bike attachments that I have used on my previous two non LR estate cars. If anybody has done this, I would appreciate some advise. cheers, Mark.
