New poster on this forum, living in North Yorks with a 1992 110 defender 200tdi currently immobile on the driveway having failed it's MOT.

What did it fail on then?

Brake pipes, drivers and rear seat belts and some lamps.

Not bad for a 14 year old vehicle I suppose. Although it has only done 98,000 miles.

Have sorted everything but the lamps - see my post on the general forum.

How do lad.

Have you tried hitting it with a big hammer?

I use a methodical, analytical, problem solving approach to any work I do on the landie.

So yes I did hit it with a hammer, that didn't work so I used a bigger one. As that didn't work either it must need something else.
