Hi All, New to the forum but an avid Land Rover fan (Former owner of Series 3, Discovery Metropolis, 3.9V8 Discovery, Range Rover Classic)

I need help!.....my daughter is going to her prom at the end of June 2018 and I have promised her I would get a 110 Defender (Ideally Black with 7 seats - and snorkel / tints etc)
I had one arranged with someone but they have just let me down.

I will pay for any insurance cover required and will pay for all fuel AND up to £500 for a few days hire - I will pick up, drive home, clean (if required) - Polish (If required) - even add FREE paint protection if you want it. Then I intend to take my daughter and her friends to the prom and return home - if I have the Defender long enough I would have small trip on the weekend (Just from Derby to Derbyshire)

Anyway, if you can help, or know of anyone who can, then please let me know.

There are a few dedicated sites and businesses that rent out either personal vehicles (mostly london mind) or fleet show cars, you might have to travel a bit to pick it up mind. They range from £170-300 quid a day, which isn't far off your budget really, just google "hire defender 110 show car" or similar, good few results.

You'll probably find that many (if not all) of the ppl on this forum like their Landie far too much to just "hire" it out.

Because this is exactly the case, I wouldn't even trust my best mates with my old heap landy, let alone a total stranger with a half decent one :D.

Thank you for your advice. I have googles Defender Hire but mostly it's SHB or some factory standard....looking for something special.
Your help is appreciated!

Good luck with the search. I don't have anything suitable (am getting rid of a battered Disco which is the only Landy I own) but wish you all the best.

Might be a bit crazy as a suggestion, but if you're willing to shell out £500, you could buy one and then re-sell it and probably lose less money. I recognise that it's a lot of money to tie up in the mean time.

First one I spotted at the top of google was this one off of Turo:

That's this years christmas list sorted .

Think this may be exactly what you're after, it's for sale in Norwich. It has been for sale for a long time tho, I've had my eye on it, so perhaps they would hire it to you. The reason it hasn't sold is probably because it's priced at £48k.

Nice!.....;unfortunately need at least 7 seats (6 girls and myself) - don't think two of the girls would fancy being in the load bay fully kitted out in prom dresses!

I am going to be buying a 110 this year anyway but never seen so many "immaculate" Landys only ending up needing serious chassis repairs, body work and interiors when viewing them!....not so bad if they were cheap enough to build in repair costs cost but they are asking big money.

The search continues!
