Evening all. I've just joined up. This looks like a very useful site.
I have had my 2002 Discovery II TD5 for, ooh, about 48 hours, and it has started dripping an oily substance from the front-driver's side of the engine. The dripping stops about 2-3 minutes after turning off the engine, and appears to be less severe now than it was yesterday (I could be wrong). I think it might be coolant (it's light and orangey), but I shall be monitoring it for the next week or so to see where it's coming from. None of the reservoirs have dropped significantly since I took delivery. That said, the coolant level *may* have dropped very slightly but it's still up to the minimum level when hot. I'm hoping that my first foray into Land Rover ownership isn't marred by a knackered head gasket...
Whatever, I shall review previous posts on a similar topic and take advice from there.
Regards,
Tom
