Hello from Ayrshire

Hi folks,
The name's Tom and I've recently got a 55 plate Freelander Td4 SE.
Loving it so far.

Previous 4x4's were Suzy Samaurai and Mitsi Shogun back in the '90s.

Have always wanted a landy (90 or 110) but had to get something swmbo liked.

Time will come when I can get my own way hopefully.

Was doon your way on Monday,got roof bars for the 'lander for a tenner at Whitesands...whit a nice auld fella.

In fact I usually manage around the county quite often.

Aye thur no sae bad in 252, ah've bin known tae be in there most days on the way home from work!
If ye're ever passin' by it and see a green 110 parked ootside the door... that'll be me

What dae ye manage roon' here then?

Ach i love the county for a guid run.

I like the wildlife and birds and am a trainee ringer wi' the North Solway Ringing Group (put rings on birds legs)

I'm part of three o' us that dae Barn Owls up here.
Sometimes help a fella over at Stranraer end wi' them.

Tryin' tae get time to ring the Red Kites as it's one o' our guys that does them and maybe an osprey nest.

Don't shoot myself 'cos of bad neck/shoulder an' havnae wet a line for a while but a wee pal has a harris hawk that he got in summer,but havnae managed out wi' him yet.

So basically i'm doon that way for recreation/chillin' oot.

Saw some red kites roon this way not so long ago and know a place where there's a couple o' ospreys between here and Lanarkshire.
Ah just came in mind o' summit... Ah'm wonderin' if ah met one o' ye's a wee whiles back briefly. Ah was at a gamekeeper mate o' mines (Buccleuch) and a bloke came roon that had summit tae dae wi' hoolets.
Talkin' o' hoolets, thur's plenty roon here and ye can hear them scraichin' away maist o' the time. Thuv bin a wee bit queyt lately.
Sounds like a guid job ye've got

only ane ah can think o' tae go to the estate is Billy the painter fae Thornhill..naw ah tell a lie ah think there's anither fella (not in the group) that does them tae fae that airt.

Love that countryside aboot the estate,don't know any of the keepers or rangers, though a couple o' my friens will.

One is a FC Ranger an' his boy was an underkeeper up the leadhills,and anither cousin is a ranger in the county too.

Don't know if ye ken Colin watret the ranger at Monaive,or Geoff Shaw up glentrool way? Both FC.

The Barn Owls are more prolific than most folk ken.
'Mind they only last c.3-4yr in the wild on average.

I know the castle has a pair.
