haha, brilliant.

I get the feeling this forum is full of **** takers and wind up merchants.

I'm really warming to it!

A very perceptive fellow if i may say so. Not surprised the Major has not put his head above the trench again. After a greeting like that, he is most likely under a table somewhere, with his hands on his head holding his helmet on. Don't think the poor bugger deserved that.

ive been looking at a few stes some with very few members ,all new people get a very hard time then leave after 1 or 2 posts leaving others wondering why no one wants to join, wouldnt it be better to go on the attack if it has to be done after a few posts

I suspect that the major's brief and ill prepared foray into no man's land has left him with an uncomfartably moist behind. He ventured out with no thought for the enemy's watchfulness, and took heavy incoming. Duly chastised, he hastened back to his dugout to consider his options.
I suspect that he is currently communicating with HQ to request backup. The full force of the enemy must soon be turned against us. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves, that if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, This was their finest hour

It's a sort of initiation ceremony James. Some can take it, some can't. But to be honest i do think some go over the top at times. Then there are others who may be a little sensitive and take the banter as a personal insult. But introducing yourself as a Major in the US marine Corps, which i suppose was to make everyone stand to attention and take notice, was maybe a grave error on his part. We will have to wait and see. If he comes back after that, he has bigger balls than a pawn brokers sign.

Much supposition going on these days. You took his intro as a means to show all his power and rank and I supposed that it was due to the fact that he's a cut and dried bloke who gets to the point. It was his info so he gave it.

He was under the supposition that he was entering an allied encampment. He may have been even more attracted to the site because of his interactions with squadies in the Sandbox. The guys I know who have worked with your lads have a high opinion of them, so he may of thought of this place as good place to start on his quest for a 90.

Whatever......but by far the worst insult cast upon him was calling him a Marine:doh:

I didn't some obviously did. I thought people were harsh on him, no need for that. Even from over that side as it happens. Why would someone in the Marine corps be insulted by being called a marine. Or have i missed a point somewhere?

Wammers he is probably shouting to him self WTF and wondering what happened. But yeah the way he introd him self , yes he did. If he would of said i'm in the forces and when I was there I really like the defender's and I want to get 1, can you help? That rank and the way he intro'd he acted like he was god, never once have I mentioned what rank I held and I won,t . I have worked with lots of 0-4 officers majority think they is a king the rest are ok. The ones in the Army and Marines are the worst with attitudes.

You Brits slap the Brits when they come on strong with there intro. Well this Yank was coming on real strong, so I slaped him. I know military and there is a difference between ours and yours. Your member of your forces never came on like the Major did.

He wants 1 for a war trophy, when he drive's it on base he will be the envy of every soldier there. he's probably up for promotion and performance marks determine if he get promoted. He's just trying to suck up to his superior officers.
Feel sorry for his troops , probably a hard ass over the edge :rolleyes:

It would be the same for you guys If you had a Mustang or a Corvette
