Hi everyone I'm looking for a Freelander or defender. I'm going to sell my Mazda 6 in next week or two for 1500 then hope to add little bit to it.
Would 1500 to 2000 get me a decent one? Looking for a diesel. It will be to do my gardening business, I also work on a farm 3 days a week. And in bad weather to help family shop or get around. Look forward to being a member On here. Any other members around Shrewsbury?

Eyup, you'll need to fold the shafts on a petrol mower (height) plus have the back seats down or out (length on a smallmower).
A brushcutter/medium strimmer will need to have the engine or head over the pass seat making the pass seat unusable.

Rakes, hoes etc also render the passengers seat unusable.

You need a trailer practically.

A kangolingo or connect fits a mower and brushxutter fairly well.

I do that part time. :)

I'm by myself when gardening so don't mind folding seats! Landy would save bending down intolerance car boot as much!
Also fancy doing some mild green laning.

Would 1500 to 2000 be enough? Don't mind doing some work on it.

Ello. You can get freelanders for that easily but expect the usual problems by previous owners using them like cars and not treating them as a 4x4. Hence drivetrain problems.
I would advise spending less on the freelander than your budget and allowing for changing the VCU and possibly the Ird. Also allowing for other typical problems. Once the work is done you will then be better off than if you bought one at the top of your budget which would still have the same issues.
