Just a quick one to say hi,

I used to work with Landys some years back at a outdoor instruction centre in the lakes and im about to own my own at long last !!!!

Just bought a Disco 200TDi (G)from e bay and im collecting it in a week or 2.

Any tech help would be appreciated, things to double check before i drive off in the disco.

Its done 168000 but i assume thats not really too bad for the TDi
engine !!!

Oh, and if anyone happens to be travelling to Essex from up north at any point in the next few weeks then give me a shout(otherwise i gotta 7 hour train journey and a 6 hour drive back home in a disco ive never even seen in the flesh)

Good to know ive finally got a landy, speak to you all soon.

Check for rust in the rear load area floor,(take the carpet up) rear wheel arches, rear cross-member, rear chassis legs (esp where the rear lashdown rings are fitted) inner sills, front inner wings, headlight mountings make sure difflock and high/low range works, listen for clonks when taking up drive/changing gear, Front CV's (knocking when on full lock) that's a few things to get you started. Oh and try to take someone who knows landrovers to have a look at it. Or see if you can get some one closer to the disco to have a good look at it before you part with your readies. Ask on this or other forums someone will take a look if you ask.
