Hi Landy Zone world, This is my Disco 2 story.
I have a 2003 Disco 2 with TD5 engine. I own her 3 years ago. She is quite well cared and in very good condition. When I bought her, she was at 176K on the panel, now 240K km. Of course you know better than me but I have to say that; İf you have a LR, you should learn about it as a LR dealer. I read a lot from here and other forums. Learned lots of from youtube. İn my country and also my city it is hard to find LR expert. So you have to be and expert . İn the past 3 years I had a lot of problems but I solved them. 3 amigos never been a problem for me. Changing the ABS sensors solved the problem. But sometimes they come agian when the body is cold, I drive and warm her. Hell they goes. More than a year, I struggle with power loss. I searched the solution at auto gear box, turbo and some sensors. But when the engine give up, I realized the problem was İn tank fuel pump I drived for months with max 3500 rpm. After renew the pump I met with the real TD5 power. By the time get used to each other, this power became poor for me and and heared about MAF sensor. I renewed and İt was a real revolution. After then Map, Crank sensor, AAP sensors renewed.
Don’t let me bore you with my gabs, I changed all the gaskets, coolant hoses, injector o rings and cables. And lots of part which should be changed. There was not any oil in the ecu or red plug. İn the meantime I should say that; I change the oil and oil filter in every 5K km. More than a year any diagnoistic device couldn’t connect the ECU. I couldn’t solved it. But a few days ago a young boy I met by chance, solved the Ecu non Connection problem. He tied up a ground cable to the ECU body and Thank God I can see the fault codes and erase them. Any fault code writing now. I feel I learned most important faults and problems. I wanted to share with you. Only there is one matter in my mind and ı will ask it to you in the future.
