I love my 2008 90 2.4tdi which has given me 1.5 trouble-free years... until yesterday. It isn’t throwing a CEL, but it has started making a strange noise on shut-off. It sounds like it’s coming from the fuel rail; like a pump is cycling 3-4 times to pressurize the rail after shut-off. It has not affected drive-ability at all. It also makes a strange noise just after startup. Anyway, thus far it has not caused any driveability issues. I am trying to attach a brief recording of the sound. I drove it from home in Vienna to Italy and am anxious about making the trip home next week without diagnosing the urgency of the issue. I would be phenomenally grateful for any insight and advice.
