Greetings Landyzone members!

I have a 2007 Range Rover 3.6 TDV8 Vogue SE which I've sort of inherited from a family member. It's spent more time SORN'd than on the road and has only covered 32,000 miles. It's in immaculate condition but on a recent trip to Wales the engine management light came on when I accelerated hard to overtake. I got a message on the dash to say there was a transmisson fault and the car was lowering and it then went into a "limp mode" (reduced power and limited gear changes). When I switched the car off and restarted it the message was gone and the car was back to normal. This happened 3 times in total. The car was recently serviced but I don't think it's had a gearbox oil change since new. Has anyone experienced something similar with their RR and how was it resolved?

many thanks in advance

Bill

Greetings

If there’s an engine management light flashing it’s probably not immaculate :D
If it’s been standing probably needs fresh Gbox oil and think there’s a filter in there.

This is the intro section to say hi to some of the members and post us some pics to show off your Landy ;)

If you have technical questions make thread in the RR section and the experts there will help you

Good luck

Welcome to landyzone :)
First rule to range rovers is a good known battery and check the alternator output
But post in the range rover section they are very good in there.

Welcome to the madness of RR ownership.
TIP-TOP battery, a full service and change of oils & filters and a diagnostics read of your vehicle is what you need. :)
Try & find someone local with the right kit to take a look.
