Heavy Clutch Pedal.

I know there is loads of threads on this.
My wife will be driving the motor as much as me but at the moment the clutch pedal is Very Heavy,
took the 6 screws off and sprayed with lubricant, made a little better but still heavy.
Couple of the local garages say only new clutch in will /should sort it, but the clutch thats in seems fine, all gears working ect.
Been looking at one of these LAND ROVER DEFENDER TD5 CLUTCH PEDAL ASSISTANCE SPRING KIT - EDP7510LKIT | eBay
but they are for TD5 and newer models. ect, loads of people say they make a very big difference when fitted. My motor is 200tdi, so would a TD pedal fit straight in as a replacment for original???

Your link is just for the spring and that needs to be fitted to the later (flat) pedal assembly, if you have the earlier U-shape pedal then it doesn't fit.
The later pedal assembly (including spring) is very cheap to buy and a direct replacement for the earlier pedal. I bought mine last year for fitment into my 1986 90 and it was under £40 for the complete assembly supplied as a genuine part.

i stuck a 300tdi one with the dual springs in my 2.5na which had the bigass one spring.

it does make it easier.. i also changed the slave to a 300 as well.. so i'm not sure if the pipe work would fit with the old slave..

yeah it does make it a lot lighter, and it no longer squeeks!

i had a donor 300tdi defender i took it from. i *think* the 300 slave cylinder pipework wouldn't thread onto the old style gear, so i was forced to change it.. glad i did, it's much easier now.

master cylinders are the same from series 3s to td5s

hmm, ah! the 300 is on the other side to a 2.5 na isn't it? that's probably why i switched it then.

so the answer is to buy a 300/td5 one, whack it on and bobs your fannys uncle

I have just purchased one of these from ebay for the rebuild
not fitted yet so i can not give anyfeed back

Looks good! None listed for the V8 perhaps it has a lighter clutch anyway.

Yu could, of course, just use a remote brake servo in the clutch line - thats what we always used to do .

anything will do you - you arent applying huge pressure - this ones even better

it depends if the heaviness for her is caused by the spring or not.. i think it might be. try undoing the bigass spring and see if it moves a lot easier.. if so then the remote wouldn't do much, would it

Will try without the big spring first.
If it is easier, would it be ok just to leave this spring off??

only if you don't wish to change gears

have you looked at Land Rover Anorak Technical 110 Station Wagon

seems you can just buy the bits and it'll fit your existing. have a check on yours though

Looked at this but my pedal is different, thats why I was asking if I could swap for TDI pedal.
