I know the in-cab heater isnt the best in the world however when mine is on setting '2' of 2 the strength of the air being pushed out by the 2 vents is at best the same as that when i whistle!! And on '1' of 2 its almost non-existant. Is this normal...its been like this since i bought it so i cant compare it to before and after...

its a 2.5 1987 N/A diesel 90 if that makes any difference...any help appreciated..Mark

Yep, that's standard. I'm re-building mine, using the existing heater just for the screen, and a second one to make the inside warmer than the outside.

Mines really good... And original.

Open the bonnet, look at the heaterbox where the water pipes go in. There will probably be a HUGE gap around them.

Cover that in LOTS of gaffa tape, and try again.

Like i said, on a cold winter dy, (with the engine warm) the cab gets too hot to comfortably sit in on flat out, and with the heater on hot at tickover its that effective it stops the engine getting up to temperature.

Mines exactly the fooking same, I like to only wear a teeshirt when am driving but had to wear a fricken coat last night.

I'll give that a go boydy, and where pat?

The heater blower on our '06 TD5 is really powerful, so I would suggest yours is defective. That's the blower though....it takes a while to actually blow out any real heat.

Mines as warm as toast during the cold weather but still pumps out hot air in the summer - stupid piece of ****, but thats offenders for you, thats why we luv 'em

Ive got a 2.5 N/a and the heater was ****te when I got it, following advice on here I checked all the cables/controls and put a new thermostat in it and BINGO, toastie warm!.
I also blanked off the passenger side under dash vent to give my side a bit more ooomph.

mine is fooking ****e!I was shiverin so much yesterday almost fookin crashed!

fooking rovers...fooking hate the things ;)

also flush out the heater matrix as old ones block very easily, if its blocked it wont be getting hot so however fast your fan is going you wont be feeling any warm air in the cabin

to me P reg is almost new - but in the big whole wider scheme of things P reg is getting on a bit - flush it out and then use some liquid de-scaler on it and i will bet you will feel the difference
