Hi All Gurus
The heater blower on my soft dash does not work, so looking for some help.
there is lots of info about heaters, resistor location, fuses etc on the older classics but I can find very little about the soft dash. Mine is a 94 so any help or advice would be great, the blower does not work on any setting and have been told it may be something other than the resistor, where would I start to look?
Regards
Mick

The heater and air con share a relay and the control switches. I'd start there. Another question. Is your cigarette lighter on the console working?
he said he hasn't got aircon.

The Aircon has 2 relays, one connected to the heater fan and the other to the aircon switch, the relays are earthed via the trimary switch and supply power to the Aircon pump and the cooling fans.

Yes I have only had it 2 weeks, have always run series Landrovers before. And they are simple to repair.
This one is in excellent condition but does have a couple of electrical issues.
You have moved on to a far different beast. Although our old Rangies don't compare in complexity to the newer versions, they are overly electrical, I guess you could say.

Oh, you should check to see if the water is just water and not coolant.

Thanks for that, the water is not coolant as the level has remained constant since I have had it, also smells like water not coolant. Did worry heater matrix had given up though.
to be sure of coolant level remove the bung on top of the thermostat housing , it should overflow , level in expansion tank doesnt mean engines full

You have a leak that may be running down the back of the dash to the floor ...

Take the carpets out, if only to dry them out properly ... and look for evidence of water run
