Hello....I have a 93 200tdi and I need a bit of help or advice with the heater system.ive totally stripped everything out for the extensive welding that's done but the heaters didnt work before so I took the dash out swapped over the heater matrix (for a suposably working one) but the old one seemed to have melted electrical connectors at the back (luckily the replacment I got just had the wires snipped off) so I cut the old one off my car and bullet connected the newer/cleaner one on....I wired it up one wire at a time excactly the same as my origianal one in the car as I think I had to put 2 wires into one at one bit and from memory I think some were different colours too(dont know why it were from a 93 model too:( ),put the battery on still with the dash out the car still starts up but I still get nothing from the fans.does anyone know how I can test them before I put my dash back in still with no heaters .I could do with taking out this alarm thing out too as I've no fobs .or anyone wants a small job for a small price in the Wakefield area please get intouch.???

would that be the red and black wire from the speed switch?....or what's that other round thing on the top passanger side that has 2 wires going to it? ...I were trying to put some pic's on earlier but the lap top were playing up.....I started to put the dash back in because I wernt sure if something els needed to be wired up for it to work either doe's anyone know?

I have now found the fan's moter wires by opening up the old one and following the wires... the main wires are on the rear clip red n black ..... I experimented on the old one that I removed and I'm glad to say it didn't work......I tried the replacement and the fan powered up and worked:D:D:D:D......half way there .....so I've started putting the dash back to see if a mirical happens and it starts to work lol.:confused:......as I've got another clip from the loom of where the front varable fan switch is and I can't remember where it goes or see where it should connect or if it would make a differance to my heater/fan problem????:blabla:still can't up load my photo's the laptop keps telling me theres no new pics on my iphone(another problem I have aaarrrggg):) but on the plus side I've sorted my mass of a mess of wires I had with the imobiliser ploblem out so no auto electrician needed anymore.
