hi, I have a 90 with a 200tdi engine. I've got a new (second hand) heater box as my original one is seized. Now whoever has removed the old one of the donor car has just cut the cables and my old cables are no good.

I've tried searching for new cables but can only find a heater control cable? Do I buy two of these or are they different cables for the different controls?

Thanks Ash

Once you have fitted the cables, unsnap the cable retaning clip and move the outer cable 1/4 of an inch towards the arm itself then refit the clip this slightly preloads the internal flap making sure its shut and cold air cant bypass the matrix, makes a massive difference to the heat output.

Thanks for the advice. I've read a lot of posts saying they're rubbish as standard.

Yes and Ive posted plenty of comments along the same lines but after messing around with the cables I actually have heat and was amazed as for 5 years Ive been cursing this fcuking car each winter!

What a great tip, cheers
