Went out a couple of minutes early today because there was a very hard frost and plenty of ice. Door took a bit of a tug to open. Started perfectly. Hit the programme button; front and rear screens clear within about three minutes.

Got out to go back indoors. Door wouldn't close. Bum against it and locked.

Quick slurp of tea and out again. Lock rose for milliseconds then locked again. Round to passenger side (sheltered) - snatched rear passenger door open and lifted front passenger lock (knackered one). In!!

Now the job of getting 6'4" in wellies across the console. Away we go. Car warms and everything back to normal.

They can be very annoying at times.

I have an issue with water freezing in the handle so I can't open the doors. More times than I'd like I have to climb in via the boot and open the doors from the inside. Once the boot button had frozen so I couldn't get in at all.

Land Rover design.

Vaseline on the rubber seal around the door will prevent the rubbers freezing together.

Rick the Pick suggested silicone grease. Either way I should do one of them.

The wife gets all funny about the Vaseline pot coming back indoors covered with black fingerprints.
