hey folks, as above I’m looking for some specific info for the heated front screen. Mines never worked and it’s next on the fix it list.
So far I’ve looked up the wiring diagrams and as far as I understand it if my dash switch illuminates then the relay should be working and it does light up. I know I need to check the power wire into the screen and the earth points for it after I check the two 30 ampere under the bonnet so the big question is... does anyone know where around the windscreen the power and earth wire are located/connected to the screen? Theres a lot of dash there and I wouldn’t wanna have to take even half of it off if I don’t have to.
So, has anyone been in there before? I can’t find any useful info on it other than the earth point is e109 which is the same earth as starter and alternator lol which I can only guess is the cars whole body which doesn’t point me to any direction.

Thanks, ross

The screen power wires are under the scuttle panel, so reasonably easy to access, once the wiper arms and retaining buttons are removed. There are 2 sets of wires, 1 on each side of the screen, as the screen has 2 separate left and right circuits.

Thanks very much, I shall get on to it tomorrow when light returns! Kinda glad their outside as a chance they may have just rotted connections.

Cheers

So I found a bad earth on one side and also a bad power supply connection on that side. Have cleaned them both up and now have good power supply and ground both sides, also load tested and working fine. But still no luck in the morning with a steamed up window so I guess it’s a new windscreen. It’s a bit worn anyway so quite happy to replace it.
