It will need to be removed to anneal it. Heat until cherry red then drop in cold water. If it was leaking it would only be gas. If you had a fuel leak it was not from the copper washer.

If I remember right (this is my old one) it was leaking from the copper so the seal wasn't working on it, but I think the sensor is ok (testing the sensor Saturday) if I can fix the washer I wont need to use the new one then

What was leaking? If it was leaking fuel it is NOT from that washer.

the injector was leaking Between the copper washer and where it sits into the hole, I dont think it was sealing it, when I got a new one it worked fine

Yes but please specify WHAT was leaking. You can only get gas leaks from that washer you CANNOT get fuel leaks.

Well it was diesel it was ****ing out all over the engine, and it stank of the stuff, so I cant see how it wasn't???

It was the injector leaking NOT the sealing washer to the head. Only thing that can leak past that is combustion gas. May show a few bubbles in your leaking diesel around where injector goes into head, but the diesel is NOT leaking past that. Injection takes place at maximum compression and goes bang and turns to gas it cannot come past that washer as liquid. Number four injectors are famous for leaking where the plastic electronic bit is attached to the injector.

OK so at least it can be fixed then, like I said will check the sensor bit, if thats ok, then I will get it refurbished, its good to have a working spare one anyway, I will google someone to see the cost of fixing it, if its not too expensive I will do it and keep it or sell it on, knowing me I will keep it, the shed is full of junk good valuable quality spare parts

Don't think you have taken in a word i have said.

You said the injector is leaking, not the copper seal, I was thinking it could be fixed, as long as the sensor is ok?

plastic electronic bit is attached to the injector. so thats the leak, and that cant be fixed, but its worth someone testing it to see shurly?

Get it tested if you want to, whether anyone can fix a leak from that area or not is doubtful.

True being plastic, and thats the weakness of it at the joins around the edges

Yes and whilst you can get new parts for the injector nozzle and needle and the injector can be reset to correct break pressure i don't think the electrical part is serviceable.

Well I got the injector... look at the size of the box!!! the injector is on top
