Hi Landyfolk, hopefully I'm in the correct forum - really new to this and pretty useless at navigating these things!
Is anyone using xenon headlights? I need to upgrade my lights so that cyclists without lights, badgers and other large mammals are illuminated before I get too close!

Try Wipac Crystallights in TD5 bowls. They use bulbs, so you don't have to pay out for sealed beam units, all plastic, so no rust. The reflectors are much better than standard. They give a good light, dip on the correct side, and won't dazzle the mammals, so they might get out of the way.

You dont say what year defender you have. Maybe some newer decent bulbs. Also the wiring can be improved to help aswell. Don't know if it would add draw on the circuit but they get pretty crusty and prone to melty wires if you try to add extra ormppp

We are not too worried about cyclists or badgers;), Larger mammals I appreciate could make a mess. So if you are talking about country lanes then some added LED spots may work. Wired correctly of course.
