Can't find anything with the search feature, but was wondering if anyone could "shed some light" (sorry for the pun), on my small problem.

When turning off the engine with the headlights on, removing the ignition key and opening the door (and shutting it) - no "beep" and warning of the headlights being left on is displayed.

Any ideas? Also, when starting the vehicle I get no sound or message to encourage me to put on my seat belt? Do you think the two "faults" could be connected?

Would be great to know if anyone has had similar problems and was able to fix them?

Cheers, Tony.

Hi
Your issue with the lights, Its a delay built in to get you to your house without tripping over the cat/dog etc, and should go out after about 30secs, at least mine does.
Not sure about seatbelt as mine doesnt warn me either but for that im pleased.

I think he means that if he leaves them on at the switch he doesn't get a warning - not the headlight delay that you're describing which leaves them on after you've switched them off for 30 secs or whatever it is.

I've not noticed a headlight warning when leaving them on (although I haven't left them on yet). I might try it on the way home.

Never noticed a seat belt warning. Are you sure there is one?

No seatbelt warnings on my DHSE I'm pleased to say. Turning the ignition off with the headlights on and then turning the headlights off produces the message "Headlight Delay" and they go off after 30 seconds. Not sure if there is a warning that the headlights have been left on or if they turn off after 30 seconds regardless of the headlight switch position.

Excuse the thread resurection, but I've got the same problem, don't get any warning tones. Already flattened the battery once, not having noticed I'd left the xxxxing lights on, bugger.
Anyone got any ideas?

Hi Dave, My problem was solved when my remote key opening stopped working. I replaced the latch mechanism in the drivers door and not only was my "remote locking problem" fixed, but the "headlights on" message re-appeared! Cheers, Tonys

You should get, if you leave the lights on, a message on dash side lamps or heads lamps. You should get three beeps when you open the door. If you leave head lamps on and switch ignition off. You get head lamp warning on dash, if you then switch lights off you get headlamp delay. Head lamps will then go off a short time after locking car. Opening activates beeps, so as previous poster says odds on a fault on drivers door lock.

I get all the messages on the display, it's just that there is no beeping sound at all, noticed you don't even hear the clicking sound for the indicators either. Is it possible that whatever speaker has actually failed?

All things are possible to test beeper. Set max speed at 30mph and drive over that speed you should get beeps and a over speed message.

It's rare for a speaker to fail and not give any noise at all. Did you ever have warning noises? If not it's possible that a previous owner may just have disconnected it. It's simple enough to find out. The speaker is mounted on the back of the instrument binnacle.

I can hear a very faint sound sometimes if the engine radio etc are all turned off, so it is fairly useless, is there a menu option somewhere to turn it up before I start taking the dash to bits?
