headlights issue on 2001 td5 90

Want to see if anyones had this same issue or might know what i should check first. the last coulple time I've driven my car i've notice a new quirk. when i go to turn my lights on at first only the side lights and the really dim little bulb in the head lamp will come on as if the switch was set to the middle position the main beam wont come until after I've driven for a few minuets then the head lights will burst into life. Before they come on I can flash the high beam but if i toggle the high beam its does nothing.

Have you looked into this issue ??

The switch itself is common fail point, contacts get crusty. Possible to clean them but new switch probably best.

Power comes to the main light switch.

Then back down to the head lamp fuses and back up to the light switch
Then directly to the lights.

It's likely to be either of those switches/stalks so i'd suggest you change both of them.
